IdleBreaks Training CampHi I'm Simon Ward

When I started competing in triathlon in 1987 there were no tri coaches so I bought a book written by Hawaii Ironman winner, Dave Scott. It seemed like a good idea. After all if it worked for him then it should work for me.

I tried to follow some of his sessions but they were just too hard and I didn't know how to adapt them to suit me. In fact I got injured and spent more time on the Physio couch than I did training!

And those were just the first of my mistakes. I've made many more over the years and it took me a lot longer to achieve my goals than I ever thought it would.

Now I'm a coach and one of my key philosophies is to educate athletes so that they don't make the same mistakes that I did all those years ago.

Our training camp in Spain is designed
to get you started on the right level

Limited to 11 athletes, myself and assistant coach Carol Young will provide:

  • Feedback about your swim, bike and run technique
  • Guidance on how to train for the 2011 season

In addition to this you will also:

  • Discover the 1 key element that 98% of novice triathletes ignore (and the reason why they don't make progress as quickly as they should)
  • Learn about the 6 key principles of training which every programme must have
  • Find out why Strength & Conditioning must not be ignored and the 4 key elements which make up any good programme
  • Uncover the 3 secrets that all successful triathletes understand about long term success
  • Discover the super foods and how a good nutrition programme can have a profound effect on your performance
  • Find out the alarming truth about triathlon kit and discover which 10 key items should be in your kit bag and at least 5 which are a waste of money
  • Learn how to train less and achieve more using Olympian training methods
  • Find out how you can be a winner at every race you participate in

In short, you'll return home armed with the latest cutting edge information and ready to hit the ground running with your winter training programme.

With our guidance you'll be able to train smarter, waste less time and achieve your goals while your club mates are still wondering what they will be doing in 2011!
