Last night I made a presentation to a group of MBA students using the title above. It’s a rather outlandish statement to make to anyone outside of “triathlonworld” where most of us live. Of the 30 people present 16 of them initially thought that they could never manage an event of this magnitude.
Actually the main goal of my talk was to show how planning for such a big event was very similar in principle to the planning needed when starting a new business project. Apparently it’s called “reverse engineering”. This is when you start with the end goal and work backwards and see if you are starting from the right place.
Anyway there were lost of questions and by the end of the evening I had managed to convince all of the delegates that they could do one of these races if they put their mind to it.
My main point here is that believing you can achieve something and having the desire to put the hard work in to make that belief a reality, is all that really stops any of us from getting what we want. If you are struggling to achieve your goals follow these simple steps;
Yes of course you have to do the hard yards but your goal will seem that much more manageable if you break it down into small chunks.

See you out there!
