Triathlon Training Weekend, Leeds: Swim, Bike & Run

To enable athletes to improve technique in all 3 disciplines and subsequently times. Every athlete should leave with a clear idea of what constitutes good technique, will have a video of their own technique and will know what the key things are that is needed to improve.

In addition, each athlete will understand how to manage their training, recovery, nutrition, stretching and conditioning programmes to enable them to train consistently and therefore improve their performances.

Venue: The John Charles Centre for Sport, Middleton Grove, Leeds, LS11 5DJ

Cost: £150 (discounts for TTC atheletes)

PROVISIONAL ITINERARY

Saturday:

  • 0900 – Meet
  • 0915-1015 – Classroom – The Theory of Swim Technique
  • 1030-1130 – Practical in the pool to record video of all athletes
  • 1200-1330 – Studio – Stretching and Strength for Triathlon
  • 1330-1415 – Lunch
  • 1415-1545 – Classroom – Review of everyone’s swim video
  • 1600-1700 – Practical in the pool to practise identified stroke corrections
  • 1715 – Finish

Sunday:

  • 0900 – Meet
  • 0915-1100 – Practical on track to record run video of all athletes and teach drills and cadence work
  • 1130-1230 – Classroom- Health, training and Performance
  • 1230-1315 – Lunch
  • 1315-1445 – Classroom- Theory of Run Technique and review of everyone’s run video
  • 1500-1645 – Studio – Turbo session – bike set up, pedalling efficiency and on the spot video feedback
  • 1700-1715 – Debrief and Finish

Cost: The full cost of the weekend will be £150 but TTC athletes get a discount depending on their programme level so Pennine athletes will pay £135, Alpine athletes £127.50 and Himalayan athletes £120. One-day attendance is possible – subject to availability – at a cost of £100/£90/£85/£80.

Lunches: There is a café at the pool but the selection of healthy food is limited. If you bring your own lunch you won’t be able to eat it in the café area but we hope to have the classroom available at that time.

Also please give your best time in the last 6 months for:

  • Swim – any distance 400m or over in the pool
  • Run – any distance 3km or over in a road-race or track race

If you haven’t got a time then please try and do a 400m swim time-trial and a 5k running race.
