Kettlebell swing

A nice short post today. As you know I’m always trying to find ways of helping athletes with Time Saving Training methods and exercises, especially in the gym

I really do think that gym training is underutilised by most endurance athletes mostly on the basis of having little time left.

The kettle-bell swing is one of those exercises that you can do which will give a full body workout ifm you choose the right weight. Today’s video will give you 3 examples of the kettle-bell swings. If you can only manage this exercise you’ll still feel the benefits of a stronger core, legs and upper body

Enjoy the video

P.S. Are you sick of the bad weather already? Why not join me in Lanzarote in January for a week of BIG cycling miles and a bit of sun?

Hey Coach, what’s your take using the PowerCrank on the Computrainer! Did u get any feedback of using the PowerCrank during the offseason and racing on regular cranks when the season start. What’s your take on that, will it help my bike improvement. Thank!!

Hi Cedriick, I’ve never realy used Power cranks so I cant give you a qualiofied response. However I do use the Spin Scan with every CompuTrainer ride and I find that very useful. I feel I have good pedal efficiency but when my concentration shifts it definitely goes off a bit (my pedal efficiency)
May be you should try using then Power cranks for a bit and see if that helps with your spin scan efficiency

Hi ken, Thanks for the question
      here goes
      1. You can use your own bike on the CompuTrainer which is pretty much essential if you want to train yourelf to get as much power as possible in your race position
      2. Robustness – OK Wattbikes havent been around long enough to test this fully but I have several examples of people still using CompuTrainer with 100,000 miles logged and over 10 years of usage
      3. Accuracy & reliability – Universities choose Computrainers for research because they are so accurate and they can be assured that from day to day and machine to machine the power readouts are comparable.
      4. CompuTrainer has over 500 3D courses that you can use as well as ones you can create. This allows you to get a real feel for gradients (we can accurately reproduce 15% grades)
      5. The “revolutionary” pedal stroke analysis used by Wattbike was developed by CompuTrainer over 20 years ago
      6. The majority of the worlds top triathletes use a CompuTrainer including several world champions. We have had over 80 1st class victories in 2011 including 14 ironman titles.
      7. Performance Imporvement Guarantee – if you dont imporve your power output (measured in a 20 minute TT) by 10% in 5 months we’ll give you all of your money back (+ I’ll give you an extra 10%)
      I hope that helps
Let me know if you need any further info.
