Coaching qualifications
Coach Biog
Louisa was previously employed in the Exercise Physiology/Sports Medicine/Lifestyle/Nutrition field working with leading businessmen, F1 drivers and teams, and club and elite level rowers and triathletes.
More recently she became involved in triathlon coaching, firstly at Glasgow Triathlon Club and then progressing to the Scottish Youth Squad. She has experience of physiological testing and assessing athletes, mentoring younger athletes, taking seminars related to endurance training, performing sports massage and conditioning sessions and explaining both the physical and mental aspects of training and racing including nutrition.
Louisa's passion is in sports specific training, prioritising the conditioning aspect to increase efficiency and reduce injury. Her knowledge of the demands of training and racing come not only from her academic studies but also her personal experiences in sport.
She competed at national level rowing before moving to triathlon where she competed at elite level representing Great Britain at both the European and World Long Course championships. In 2005 she was 3rd in her first Ironman in Lanzarote and followed this up with 4th at the European Long Course Champs. However, her career ended there following a serious biking accident but this did not stop her as she is now training and racing, gaining good results in cycling, running and triathlon events. Her focus is to help others realise their dreams in sport.
