Half day workshop which includes:
Session 1: Workshop/Discussion
Title: Basic principles behind running faster
Content: What affects running speed? How much and what should athletes be aiming for.
Time: 30 min
Session 2: Practical
Title: Video analysis of running style
Content: Video all athletes. Provide feedback with video and assessment sheet.
Time: 45 min
Session 3: Practical
Title: Running technique
Content: Drills to improve hip flexibility, running cadence, core strength.
Time: 45 min
Session 4: Theory/Discussion
Title: Running fitness – what sort of training should you be using to get fitter. Volume, intervals, training zones.
Content: Discuss and then provide athletes with some suggestions of sessions to do.
Time: 60 min
Session 5: Theory/Practical
Title: Strength training and stretching for runners
Content: Features and benefits of S&C for running. Practical examples of exercises athletes can use to develop.
Time: 60 min
All athletes will receive a CD Rom of their technique and feedback sheet, within 10 days of completing the workshop.
